New Devcom update Request

Postby frank mc alinden » Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:50 am

Hi Guys

Was wondering after the dust has settled when the latest apps have been released would there be any chance of getting an updated version of Devcom....???
Thanks

Yeah, this is going to happen.

There's two approaches - firstly a plain old service replacement for the existing devcom app - which is a bit limited, but would work.. I have one built, but not tested.

The other is a project that I have been working on for a while, which I call the 'superbridge' - it's essentially a bridge between xPL networks, which should work between two regular networks (for instance, a holiday home and your regular house), between serial/ethernet, and possibly between xpl/xap (to replace the xap functionality removed from xplhal).

I wrote up an experimental bit of code, and it seemed to work okay, but I had a bunch of issues that I think is down to my design - it wouldn't scale up very well.

All of my hardware is boxed up (I emigrate back to the UK in 5 weeks) so that development is on hold for a bit.
Got a Question? Have you searched the forums? Perhaps the xPL Wiki can help.
